St. Barnabas Hospital to implement Frontiers™, eko systems’ Perioperative Clinical Information Management System

Fairfax, VA (July 8, 2005) - St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, New York has signed an agreement to implement Frontiers™, eko systems inc.’s perioperative clinical information management system. According to William Ford Sr., M.D., Chairman of Anesthesiology at St. Barnabas, Frontiers™ is expected to go live the 3rd quarter of 2005

Frontiers™ is a completely integrated clinical information management solution that covers the entire spectrum of perioperative care (pre-operative clinic, pre-operative holding, operating room, post anesthesia recovery room and post-operative rounds). The system was developed by clinicians and a team of engineers to meet the challenging needs of a “top 100” medical center.

Dr. Ford stated, “We look forward to achieving our goal of automating the perioperative clinical information from the Pre-Op Clinic through PACU. We are confident the Frontiers™ system will assist us in improving patient care, meeting the increasing demands for regulatory compliance and increasing the Hospital’s and physicians’ revenue. Frontiers™ is easy to learn and use, and will require little support from the Hospital’s information systems department.”

“We are excited about implementing our system at St. Barnabas Hospital,” said Donald Goldberg, CEO of eko systems.” “Automating the perioperative clinical documentation will assist St. Barnabas in creating a more complete record, while capturing the information necessary to improve clinical practices, enhance revenue and reduce costs. “St. Barnabas, America’s first chronic disease hospital has a long history of providing compassionate and high quality care, and our software will support the hospital in this mission.”
